In Costa Rica, the term clínica is used for private institutions that generally include inpatient medical and surgical facilities, doctor’s offices, laboratories, radiology, pharmacy and outpatient services.
Hospital generally refers to public inpatient medical/surgical facilities that also provide laboratory, radiology, pharmacy and related services.
